Doctor Who Series 8 finale on tonight

So, Series 8 of Doctor Who and Peter Capaldi’s debut season as the Time Lord culminates tonight in an one hour series finale entitled Death in Heaven. It looks pretty epic judging from the trailer.

I don’t know what is in store, but there’s an awful lot to continue on from last week’s episode.

The finale airs on BBC1 today at 8pm, following Strictly Come Dancing.

spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen last week’s episode Dark Water. No spoilers for tonight’s episode.

Doctor Who new series trailer airs!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006q2x0

The BBC have shown the trailer for the new season of Doctor Who, in the half time break during coverage of the World Cup final no less! The video  can be seen on their web site at the link above.

The trailer is awesome with some great clips. Peter Capaldi  already is looking like a great Doctor and seems more serious in tone and introspective, asking Clara if he is a good man. The tagline is ‘It’s Time You Knew Him’

August 23rd  can’t come soon enough!

It begins!

Well, the excitement starts here. It was only a couple of seconds, but this is the first teaser of the new Doctor played by Peter Capaldi. The BBC showed the image, accompanied by the theme music just before 7pm this evening. So August then, my guess is Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend, i.e. 23rd.

Yippeeeeeeeeeee!

Wow, those guests are piling up. Hot on the heels of Hermione Norris, we now have the news that comedian Frank Skinner will guest in Doctor Who.

It is unclear what sort of role it will be, but comedians can be very good actors so we’ll see. Skinner has been pitching to be in the show for ages and is a big, big fan of the show (classic and new), and has said he would be happy to be ‘third monster on the left!’.

Skinner is currently on tour in his stand-up show, ‘Man in a Suit’.

Hermione Norris will  guest star in  Peter Capaldi’s  debut season as the Time Lord. Norris is another high profile guest signing, along with Ben Miller and Keeley Hawes, and is a stage and screen actress probably best known for being in Spooks and most recently in The Crimson Field, a WWI drama on BBC1.
